Shelley Stone Obituary

Shelley Ann Fudeman Stone passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully, in her home on Wednesday, September 8th. Shelley was born at Reading Hospital on October 17, 1958, to Alexander and Julia Fudeman, and lived in New York, New Jersey, Florida and Connecticut prior to settling in Flying Hills, Pa for the past 25 years.  She was funnier than many comedians, as insightful as a psychologist, and possessed an almost miraculous ability to relate to any suffering or challenged person.  There was a special place reserved in Shelley’s heart for the elderly, and special needs children, whom she worked with over the years,  and  whom adored Shelley as much as she adored them. Shelley was proud of the accreditations she achieved while attending Centenary College and graduating from Alvernia University, and used her skills to teach, to heal, and to love. Now she has joined her treasured loved ones in eternity but leaves an enormous void for those who survive her. Shelley is survived by her sister, Madelyn Fudeman, and her brother, Robert Plotkin. Perhaps Shelley’s life mantra can best be expressed in the beautiful words of William Yeats, “There are no strangers here; Only friends you haven’t yet met.” Shelley never met a stranger in life whom within minutes of meeting her wouldn’t refer to her as their friend. Sleep well dear friend for your journey has been long and although not without its travails, it was filled with adventure and so much love.  Always  you persevered with a joyous heart and a loving smile.  The family asks that in lieu of flowers contributions be made to:
