Ruth E. (Dundore) Schatz

Ruth Edna Schatz, 96, passed away March 13, 2024 in Mifflin Center.  Born in Lebanon County Aug 3, 1927, the daughter of Stella K. (Wartluft) Dundore and Earl G. Dundore,  was one of four children.   She grew up in "Bethany Children's Home" and West Lawn and graduated Wilson H.S. in 1946. Ruth joined the Army, becoming a W.A.C.  during the Korean War, and worked at the Pentagon where she met her husband, John Charles Kalinoski and had a daughter, LuAnn Kalinoski.  Ruth had worked as a secretary for years at "American Bank" and "Mohnton Knitting Mills", living in Mohnton for 38 years. before moving to "Sencit House" for 13 years. She enjoyed crocheting and was active in various "General Federation of Women's Clubs" in Berks County. She was preceded in death by siblings: Margaret Engle King, George Dundore, and Elizabeth (Betty) Jones.  Survived by daughter and various nieces and nephews.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 13th at 11:00 AM at Charles Evans Cemetery, 1119 Centre Ave., Reading.  CRAMP HUMMEL Funeral Home, Centre Ave., Reading has charge of arrangements.
