Roland G. Phelps, Sr.

Roland G. Phelps, Sr., 80 of Reading, PA., passed away on Sept. 10th at Sinking Spring Skilled Care Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.  He was the husband of Mary J. (Tennant) Phelps for 33 years. Born in Reading, PA., he was the son of the late James Burton Sr., and the late Callie (Osborne) Phelps.  Roland had retired from the Streets Department for the City of Reading where he ran the Street Sweeper. Roland was predeceased by sisters, Mendella Fains, Laureen Phelps; brother, Edward Phelps. He is survived in addition to his wife by his children, Valerie Robertson, Reading, PA, Roland G. Phelps, Jr., Reading, PA, Denise Phelps, Reading, PA., Shannon Tennant, Reading, PA., Michael Tennant, Reading, PA.; brother, Robert Phelps, Reading, PA; sister, Adell Archer, Florida; Many Grand and Great Grandchildren.  Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, September 19th at 11:00 AM at the Cramp Hummel Funeral Home, 934 Centre Ave., Reading.  A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Berks County Memorial Gardens, Fleetwood, PA.
