Robert P. Kelly

Robert P. Kelly, 69 of Reading, passed away on June 9th in his residence. He was the husband of the late Shari L. Kelly and survived by his first spouse, Ann Deriso.  Born in Philadelphia, PA., he was the son of the late Robert P. Thompson and the late Margaret (Grant) Thompson. A vagabond in his earlier days, Bob eventually planted roots in berks county. He was a talented poet, songwriter, guitarist and painter. For a number of years he was a certified scuba instructor. He was always an avid reader and collector.  A nature and animal lover, he was also a hitchhiking encyclopedia of history and culture. There was nothing trivial about his pursuits. He touched many hearts deeply and is deeply loved by many.   He was predeceased by one son, Benjamin Kelly.  Surviving is one son, John R. Kelly, Oley, PA; one brother, Thomas L. Masciantonio, Sinking Spring, PA; one sister, Susan Gonzalez, Magnolia, TX; 2 Grandchildren, Portland Kelly and Georgia Kelly.  Funeral Services will be private.
