Richard E. Ferry, 84 of Douglassville, PA., passed away on February 12th in St. Joseph Hospital, Bern Twp. He was the loving husband of Roberta A. (Duda) Ferry for 34 years. Born in Lancaster, PA., he was the devoted son of the late Richard Ferry and Esther C. (Deverter) Ferry. Rick was a US Airforce Veteran and a Penn Manor High School Graduate. He was predeceased in death by sisters. Esther J. Snyder and June R. Fasnacht. Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, Richard E. husband of Renee Ferry, Wyomissing, PA, Michael P. Ferry, Winston-Salem, NC; one daughter, Deborah A. wife of David Bartal, Sinking Spring, PA; Stepchildren, Deborah A. Berosh, Barbara J. Bunt, George J. Berosh and Stephen M. Berosh; 3 Grandchildren and 4 Step Grandchildren; 4 Step Great Grandchildren. The things that gave him the greatest joy were his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Rick also enjoyed feeding and watching the birds. He spent many hours on his deck while relaxing to Frank Sinatra. Anyone who knew Rick knew that he was a talented cook who loved nothing more than to scour the internet and cookbooks for a special recipe to make for his friends and family. He reveled working in his beautiful gardens and he took great pride in caring for his lawn while riding on his tractor. Rick was a lifelong Green Bay Packers and Celtics fan. In honor of Rick's wishes, his family will hold a private celebration of his life at a future date.
