Jack (John) Walker, 88, of Alsace Township, PA, passed away at his residence on July 22, 2025.
He was the beloved husband of Anne (Pritchard) Walker, with whom he shared 63 wonderful years of marriage.
Born July 30, 1936 in Whitesboro, NY, Jack was the son of the late John Walker and Reba (Corts) Walker. A proud U.S. Army veteran with wartime service. He spent much of his career as a self-employed general contractor and auto body technician. Truly a “Jack of all trades,” there was little he couldn’t fix or build with his own two hands, always ready to lend a hand or a perfectly timed dad joke to anyone who needed it.
Jack was an avid sports fan who loved cheering on the Orioles, Eagles, and Phillies. He had a serious sweet tooth for chocolate ice cream and an even bigger appetite for spontaneous adventures. Sundays were often spent on family road trips with no particular destination, paper maps, and country music playing (whether you liked it or not). He was happiest when surrounded by his family, sharing laughs, memories.
He was predeceased by his twin brother, James, and two sisters, Mary Ag Plantz and Patricia Walker.
Jack is survived by his loving wife, Anne; his son, John Walker of Temple, PA; three daughters, Angeline Walker of Temple, PA, Jacqueline Berry of Starks, LA, and Carole Kalinowski of Leesport, PA; 15 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren, and his sister Carole Sobieski of AZ all of whom brought him immense pride and joy. His grandchildren lovingly called him “Jack”.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Cramp-Hummel Funeral Home, 934 Centre Ave., Reading. A viewing will be held from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
