John Canonico

John Canonico, 87 of Reading, passed away Wednesday, August 18th, 2021. Husband of Betty A. Canonico, married on April 25th, 1953. Born July 4th, 1934 in Coaldale, Schuylkill County. He was the son of Thomas F. and Mary Macenka Canonico. He was a 1952 graduate of Muhlenberg High School where he played football, baseball, and basketball and was the ‘Outstanding Athlete’ of the class of 1952. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Tui, wife of Clarence Yoh, Lansdale, Rose Marie, of Allentown and son Jack of Reading. He is also survived by his three grandchildren; Cassandra and Sophia Molinaro and Mackenzie Yoh. John was employed for 28 years in Albright College’s Athletic Department; an employee at Meridian Bank until its merger; owner of B&J Produce in the Farmer Kissinger Market on Penn Street. Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cramp Hummel Funeral Home, Center Avenue, Reading.
