Emma G. Urkuski, 96, of Reading, passed away on April 12th in ProMedica, Sinking Spring. She suffered from Alzheimer’s disease for many years.
She was the wife of Robert P. Urkuski. Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Grace (McDevitt) Bitting. Emma (also known as Pat, Aunt Pat, or Grammie Emma) enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as they were growing up.
Emma enjoyed traveling abroad with her husband and family. She was a Holland America Cruise Line 5 Star Mariner.
She worked for the IRS as a Revenue Representative for 29 years.
She was predeceased by her sister, Vivian J. Bitting Reynolds Hoffman. Surviving in addition to her husband is her daughter, Vivian J. (Urkuski) Stetzler, Sinking Spring, PA; her son, John J. Urkuski, Flagstaff, AZ; her brother, James H. Bitting, Reading, PA; 3 grandchildren: Heather J. Urkuski, Bozeman, MT; Austin J. Urkuski, Collegeville, PA; and Julian P. Stetzler, Columbia, SC. In addition, she leaves behind three great grandchildren, Aiden J. Urkuski, Connor J. Urkuski and Declan C. Urkuski.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 22nd at 11:00 AM in the Cramp Hummel Funeral Home, 934 Centre Ave., Reading. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
