Dorothy M. (Hilbert) Pizzo

Dorothy M. Pizzo, 97 of Reading, passed away on Aug. 2nd in the Reading Hospital.  She was the wife of the late Joseph Pizzo, who passed away in 1980.  Born in Reading, PA., she was the daughter of the late Irvin Hilbert and the late Grace (Brown) Hilbert.  Dorothy was a 1942 graduate of Reading High School.  She had been a homemaker and years ago had worked for Weiss Markets in the Bakery Department. Dorothy had been a life long member of Holy Spirit Lutheran church, Reading.    She is predeceased by two brothers, Edward Hilbert and Richard Hilbert; one sister, Evelyn Knerr.  Surviving are two daughters, Sherry L. Pizzo, Reading, PA, JoAnn Rutter, PA.  She is also survived by a Niece, Patricia Knerr Czerny, Naples, FL; several other Nieces and Nephews.    Funeral services will be private at the request of Dorothy and her family.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in her memory to Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 421 Windsor St., Reading, PA. 19601 or the Reading Free Public Library, 100 S Fifth Street, Reading, PA. 19602.  Online photos and memories can be shared at www.cramp-hummelfuneralhome.com
