Leon K. Brobst

Leon K. "Chub" Brobst, Sr., 82 passed away on October 10th in the Reading Hospital. Leon was born  in Bernville, PA to Leon W. and Elsie M. (Leininger) Brobst both deceased.  Leon graduated from Reading High School in June 1954 and in August of that year he went into the Air Force and served 3 years. After release from the service he went to work for Textile Machine for 15 years. Leon then went to work for the Reading School District as a custodian for 24 years. After retiring he went to work for Muhlenberg Walk-In Bingo for 8 years.  Leon was an avid fisherman and loved to fish at Gring's Mill.  He was also an avid bowler who was in many leagues around the area, as well as going to ABC Bowling Tournaments around the country.  He loved to travel with the Olivet Seniors, besides his bowling friends and cruises.  Leon is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia A. Brobst.  He is also survived by a brother Wilmer F. Brobst.  He leaves behind three children, Robin L. Gerhart, Leon Jr. and Michael; 3 grandchildren, Adam, Ryan and Andrew Gerhart; 4 great grandchildren, Christopher, Diana, Lilly and Alexander.
